Terms of Service
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Welcome to One Crown Records. By creating an account, subscribing, or using our Label-as-a-Service platform, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Nature of the Service & Intellectual Property
One Crown Records provides technological infrastructure, global distribution, royalty split management, and legal protection for independent artists.
You are the owner: the Artist retains 100% ownership of their master recordings (Masters) and publishing rights. One Crown Records claims no exclusivity or ownership over your catalog. We operate strictly as a service provider.
Distribution license: by uploading your music, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, limited license to distribute, monetize, and protect your content across digital service providers (DSPs) while your subscription is active. This license ends when your content is taken down or your account is closed, except for obligations already incurred with the platforms (e.g., pending royalty reporting and collection).
2. Eligibility & Account Security
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the service. If you are a minor, you may only use it through a parent or legal guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. The information you provide (name, payment details, banking details for royalties) must be truthful and kept up to date.
3. Subscriptions, Payments & Billing
Our services operate on a monthly subscription model (e.g., Crown Basics, Crown Pro, and Crown Signature).
Charges are processed securely through our PCI-DSS-certified payment provider (Recurrente). One Crown Records does not store card numbers on its servers.
By subscribing, you authorize automatic monthly charges to your registered payment method. Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise and may be subject to applicable taxes in your jurisdiction.
If a payment fails, the system will make additional charge attempts. After repeated failures, your account and associated services (including distribution and royalty collection) may be paused or deactivated.
We may change subscription prices. Any price change will be notified at least 30 days in advance and will apply from your next billing cycle.
4. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellation: you may cancel your subscription at any time from your Artist Portal. There are no forced contracts or lock-ins. Upon cancellation, no future charges will be made and you keep access to the service until the end of your current billing cycle.
Refunds: due to the digital nature of the infrastructure and the immediate costs of distribution, we do not offer refunds for partial months or charges already processed, except where required by applicable law.
Effects of cancellation: once your subscription ends, we may take your releases down from the platforms. Royalties already generated and reported by the platforms will be paid out to you per the Royalties section.
5. Artist Responsibilities — Zero Tolerance for Fraud
To protect our ecosystem and our relationships with the stores (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.), you agree to upload only original music or material for which you hold all legal rights or valid commercial licenses (including samples, covers, and collaborations).
Streaming fraud is strictly prohibited: bots, click farms, pay-for-streams or pay-for-playlist services, or any artificial inflation method. If we detect artificial streaming, we reserve the right to withhold the suspicious royalties, take down your releases, and terminate your account immediately without refund.
You also agree not to upload unlawful or defamatory content or content that infringes third-party rights, and not to use the platform for money laundering or other illicit purposes.
6. Copyright Claims
We respect intellectual property. If you believe content distributed through One Crown Records infringes your copyright, send us a notice through Artist Portal support or our contact email including: identification of the protected work, identification of the allegedly infringing material, your contact details, and a good-faith statement.
Upon a credible claim, we may remove or suspend the identified content while the matter is resolved. The affected artist may submit a counter-notification with evidence of their rights.
We apply a repeat-infringer account termination policy.
7. Third-Party Platforms
The final availability of your music on each platform (Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) depends on each platform's policies and decisions, which are outside our control. Platforms may reject, remove, or demonetize content at their discretion, and their publishing and reporting timelines may vary.
One Crown Records does not guarantee specific commercial results: stream counts, revenue, editorial playlist placement, or audience growth.
8. Royalties, Withdrawals & Taxes
Royalties generated by your music are processed and reflected in your Artist Portal once the digital platforms issue their reports and payments to us (usually with a 2–3 month delay).
One Crown Records facilitates payment of these royalties (including splits among collaborators) to the bank accounts or wallets you configure, subject to the platform's minimum withdrawal thresholds and applicable payment-provider fees.
You are solely responsible for declaring and paying any taxes due on your royalty income in your jurisdiction. One Crown Records may be required to apply withholdings where mandated by applicable law.
9. Changes to the Service & to these Terms
We may improve, modify, or discontinue platform features. If a change materially reduces the contracted service, we will notify you with reasonable advance notice.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or through a notice in the Artist Portal at least 15 days in advance. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
10. Warranty Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, One Crown Records disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, One Crown Records shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including lost revenue, opportunities, or data), and its total aggregate liability to the Artist for any claim shall not exceed the total subscription amount paid by the Artist in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, nor your non-waivable consumer rights in your jurisdiction.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless One Crown Records, its directors, and employees from third-party claims arising out of: (a) the content you upload, (b) your breach of these terms, or (c) your violation of third-party rights, including copyright and image rights.
12. Termination
We may suspend or close your account upon material breach of these terms (including streaming fraud or rights infringement), upon legal requirement, or if the service is discontinued. Where reasonable, we will notify you and give you the opportunity to export your information.
No force majeure event (causes beyond our reasonable control, including third-party platform failures, infrastructure outages, or acts of authority) shall constitute a breach of these terms.
13. Governing Law & General Provisions
One Crown Records operates from Guatemala City. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Guatemala and any dispute will be resolved under this jurisdiction, without prejudice to consumer protections applicable in your country of residence.
If any provision of these terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties regarding the service.
